A Patched Boro Zokin: Sashiko Stitched Dust Rag
mid twentieth century
12" x 13", 30.5 cm x 33 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a good-sized and very handsome zokin which is sewn from recycled cotton cloth which has been beautifully sashiko stitched and which has also been patched on both sides as can be seen in the attached detail photos.
A very good looking zokin with a lovely composition and good color.
