A Panel of Plaid Cotton: Handwoven and Hand Patched
$45.00 USD
ca. mid twentieth century
64" x 13 1/2", 162.5 cm x 34.25 cm
This is a lovely length of hand woven, large-scale plaid cotton cloth. The palette is rust, beige and black, the black weft yarns having a kind of nappy quality which adds a bit of texture to the areas it appears.
The panel, taken from a futon cover, shows two hand applied mending patches. Although this cloth was used, and probably used well, the surface is remarkably fresh and shows little wear.
A lovely length of traditional plaid cloth from old Japan.
