A Pair of Zokin: Commercial Cottons
ca. mid to late twentieth century
each: 12" x 10", 30.25 cm x 30.25 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a very handsome pair of zokin which is sewn from recycled, commercially produced cotton cloth, the red and yellow zokin and the black on white checked zokin making a lovely, vibrant pair. A simple grid of white sashiko stitching embellishes each of the zokin.
In good condition.
