A Pair of Mended Tabi: Inside-Out
$65.00 USD
mid twentieth century
each, as shown: 5" x 10" x 4", 12.75 cm x 25.5 cm x 10 cm
As most of you know, tabi are the traditional, Japanese split-toe socks which are worn with footwear while outside or on their own inside the home.
This particular pair is lovely and is shown inside-out in order to highlight the hand stitched and patched mending. The body of the tabi is machine stitched from a pale blue cotton cloth and soles are hand stitched--and also heavily repaired.
A charming pair of traditional footwear that show a great deal of wear and repair.
Wonderful.
