A Pair of Heavy Cotton Momohiki: Black and White Stripes
$95.00 USD
ca. early to mid twentieth century
as shown: 37" x 28", 94 cm x 71 cm
Momohiki are a kind of traditional, tight fitting, wrap around work trouser which were worn all over old Japan.
This pair is expertly machine stitched from a drapey kind of striped, heavy cotton, a material akin to cotton duck or lightweight canvas.
The black on white narrow stripes create a rich, pale grey tone when seen from a distance, and these work pants are in tremendously good condition and are still able to be worn.
Some surface abrasion and small, unnoticeable stains, this is a handsome pair of traditional, Japanese work pants.
