Shown here is a very short and narrow sakiori obi, which is a traditional kimono sash that has been woven from a weft of shredded, recycled cloth--in this case it is cotton.
The warp yarns are very fine and are black, brown and white in color which add a striped design and richness of color to the obi.
The weft rag yarns are greenish neutral tones that are punctuated with red toned horizontal bars.
A beautifully colored and textured sakiori obi in good, used condition appropriate with its age.
Just lovely.
