A Multi-colored Sakiori Obi: Silk Weft
$95.00 USD
ca. mid twentieth century
112" x 6 1/4", 284.5 cm x 16 cm
This is a really lovely ragweave, or sakiori, obi which has been woven with a weft of torn and shredded, multi-colored silks.
The colors which make up the weft are fed randomly against the warp, which makes for a beautiful and surprising color story if your eye travels from one end of the obi to the other.
This particular obi is in very good condition with no discernible flaws. The colors are bright, the weaving is rich and tight.
A very, very good sakiori obi.
