A Mid Twentieth Century Commercially Produced Cotton Boro Length: Reds

$35.00 USD

mid twentieth century
45" x 14", 114.25 cm x 35.5 cm

This lovely boro length is a piece of commercially produced cotton and it seems to have been taken from what was once a furoshiki or a traditional wrapping or hauling cloth.

The pattern is a large scale and exuberant one of flowers and checks; the cloth itself shows a spray of small holes overall and there are six mending patches on the length, two of which are the same as the base cloth.

One of the two long edges are lacking a selvedge and of course there is general light fading to this piece.

Really wonderful patching, mending and a very nice pattern to the base.
