A Marvelously Good Zokin #2: Thick and Piece Constructed
ca. mid to late twentieth century
14" x 10 3/4", 35.5 cm x 27.5 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This zokin is an exceptionally good one as it is created from a good number of scraps of cotton cloth which are beautifully placed and artfully arranged, creating a kind of "mini-boro" textile with lots of artistic appeal.Just fantastic--and recommended.
