A Long Piece of Indigo Dyed Shibori Cotton: Miura Streamers

$90.00 USD

ca. mid twentieth century
128" x 12 3/4", 326 cm x 32.5 cm

This is a really gorgeous length--a very long piece--of indigo cotton which is dyed in the shibori method--the technique shown is a variant on miura.

The length is hand stitched from two or three pieces; its color is bright and clear indigo, rich and velvety blue, and the cotton cloth is of good quality.

The miura, the blotchy, tied shibori, are arranged in vertical "streamers" or garlands which flow down the length of the cloth in irregularly spaced rows. The shibori is beautifully done, and the condition of this long piece of indigo dyed shibori cotton is very good.

A wonderfully good piece of shibori, which begs to be put to use in an art project.
