A Long Patched Boro Panel: Black and Yellow Patched Cloth

$60.00 USD

ca. early twentieth century
76" x 13 1/4", 193 cm x 33.5 cm

This rather long piece of hand woven cotton shows a rather muted grey/black and gold plaid.   The panel has a bit of an ingrained curve, probably the result of it having been used for years as a panel of a futon cover.

The cloth is tightly woven and very durable; to the surface, to which there is little damage save some surface wear and a bit of light fading, five patches are applied, which add visual appeal and are very much in keeping with a textile of this age.

A subtle and handsome length of boro cloth.
