A Long Boro Diaper: Wonderful Patching

Diapers along with dustrags, or zokin, are among the traditional household textiles that represent the end of the line where the re-purposing or recycling of cloth is concerned.
This diaper is a sensational looking one, and it is one that is composed beautifully of checked cottons. Each of its two sides is wonderfully put together and shows real artistry and design, although the maker never realized what a visually rich little textile she was stitching.
The diaper is completely hand stitched of cast off cottons, the large scale checks being hand woven.
