A Length of Warp Based Kasuri: Arrow Feather Motif

This stark and graphic design is achieved by dyeing yarns before it is woven: the zig-zag pattern is therefore embedded in the cloth by nature of its woven construction.

The background color is a very dark indigo that reads black. The zig-zags appear to be silver or grey in color and they refer to a traditional Japanese design motif called yabane or arrow feather.

The cotton is tightly and fairly densely woven so the length has a very good feeling in the hand.
