A Length of Thickly Woven Low Contrast Checked Design: Hand Woven Cotton

This is a thickly--or heavily--woven length of old cotton that shows a dark field of a low contrast, two tone and grey-ish checkerboard pattern that includes a narrow, deep green vertical stripe between the columns of squares.

The cloth is heavy as stated above and it appears to be a weft faced weave.

There seems to be little to no wear to this length and its subtle design and coloration is as intriguing as it is beautiful.
