A Length of Shibori Dyed Cotton: Tiered Flower Forms
$30.00 USD
early to mid twentieth century
25 1/4" x 13 1/4", 64 cm x 33.5 cm
This is a length of indigo dyed cotton shibori that was produced in Arimatsu, one of the towns in Aichi prefecture that was a leading producer and innovator in the production of shibori.
The pattern shows a design of stitched shibori that forms a kind of chain of flower forms, the chain ascends up the length of the cloth in a stepped or tiered pattern.
The shibori is dyed onto a length of commercially loomed, fairly lightweight cotton and is in good, used condition.
Wonderful to look at!
