A Length of Shibori Dyed Cotton: Syncopated Square
$30.00 USD
early to mid twentieth century
24 3/4" x 13 1/4", 63 cm x 33.5 cm
This is a length of indigo dyed cotton shibori that was produced in Arimatsu, one of the towns in Aichi prefecture that was a leading producer and innovator in the production of shibori.
The pattern shows a design of diagonally-placed square tie dyed shibori, some of the squares are blank and some are mottled from tie dye.
The shibori is dyed onto a length of commercially loomed, fairly lightweight cotton and is in good, used condition.
Please note one hole to the length which is shown on the accompanying detail photo.
Wonderful to look at!
