A Length of Shibori Dyed Cotton: Roundels and Irregular Grid
$30.00 USD
early to mid twentieth century
24 1/2" x 13", 62 cm x 33 cm
This is a length of indigo dyed cotton shibori that was produced in Arimatsu, one of the towns in Aichi prefecture that was a leading producer and innovator in the production of shibori.
The pattern shows a design of three roundels each of which contain a grassy flower. The background is a pattern of irregularly-shaped, stacked rectangles.
The shibori is dyed onto a length of commercially loomed, fairly lightweight cotton and is in good, used condition.
Wonderful to look at!
