A Length of Shibori Dyed Cotton: Interrupted Diagonally Arranged Stitched Blips #3

$30.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
25" x 13 1/4", 63.5 cm x 33.5 cm

This is a length of indigo dyed cotton shibori that was produced in Arimatsu, one of the towns in Aichi prefecture that was a leading producer and innovator in the production of shibori.

The pattern shows a repeat pattern of stitched shibori blips that are  arranged on the diagonal. A smaller blip is set against the larger pattern, creating a counter movement to the design.

The stitched pattern is dyed onto a length of commercially loomed, fairly lightweight cotton and is in good, used condition.

Wonderful to look at!
