A Length of Resist Dyed Cotton: Rustic Crane

This short length of tightly hand woven cotton is resist dyed in indigo, the indigo creating an inky blue-black color on the cloth.

Resist dyed on the bottom of the cloth is a crane which is both rustic in its depiction and in the quality of resist dye. It is formed into a marumon or circle shape, its wings outstretched in order to create a full circle design.

There is some scuffing and light mark of what appears to be stray resist dyed rice paste to the top of the cloth otherwise this length is in good, used, old condition.
