This is a stained and beautiful length of rustic, undyed hemp or ramie bast fiber cloth.
This is a panel from a kaya or mosquito netting, hence the very loose, open weave of the cloth.
On this well-used length there are clouds of dark stains to the surface so this length old kaya or mosquito netting is not for those who cannot appreciate this aesthetic.
The color is a warm neutral; the bast fiber yarns are a bit wiry to the touch.
The length is hand stitched from two pieces: pay attention to the white thread stitched mending to the top of the piece and to the patch near the bottom, left. There are a few small holes and snags to the length.
A handsome length of old, very worn kaya.
