A Length of Plaid Striped Cotton: Interesting Design

$65.00 USD

early twentieth century
58" x 13", 147.5 cm x 33 cm

This is a length of handwoven cotton that has two vertical, wide stripes set apart and running down the center of piece of cloth.

While these wide stripes dominate the design, horizontal blocks of medium and dark-toned indigo in alternating rows create a kind of "plaid" effect behind it. This is a complex and interesting take on stripes or plaids.

The cloth is in good, used condition and its color is slightly richer than it appears here in these photos.

All in all, this is a wonderfully designed length of old striped--or plaid--cloth.
