A Length of Plaid-on-Plaid Boro Cotton: Two Stitched Pieces

$85.00 USD

late nineteenth century
68 1/4" x 13 1/2", 173.5 cm x 34 cm

This is length of indigo dyed cotton plaid cloth that is made from two pieces that are hand stitched together.  The cloth is hand woven from hand spun yarns.

The two pieces are of slightly different widths with the top piece faded and the bottom piece darker. Two patches of small-scale plaid cotton are used to mend the length as are other small fragments of solid color cotton.

This is a visually appealing length of old cloth that has a marvelous presence, good age and great character.
