A Length of Pieced Plaids: Patched and Faint Stains

$35.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
62" x 14", 157.5 cm x 35.5 cm

This is a length of cotton consisting of two types of plaids that are composed of four pieces of cloth that are hand stitched together. Four mending patches stud the surface of this length.

The cloth is lightweight and well-used as can be seen by some of the faint stains along its length which are illustrated on the photos here. The dull color tones of the black and brownish plaid mask the stains in a way, or maybe they play a willing host for them.

The contrast of the two plaids--one fairly bright, one fairly dull--is lovely. Certainly this length can be used as a fashion accessory, a home accessory or it can be admired as art.

A good looking old boro cloth.
