A Length of Pale Blue Kaya: Patched Mosquito Netting

This is a wonderful. very generous length of rustic, quite worn, dyed indigo hemp cloth.  This is a panel from a kaya or mosquito netting, hence the very loose, open weave of the cloth.

The color is a very warm blue green which looks more blue or more green depending on the ambient light conditions; the hemp yarns have taken the dye in a slightly uneven fashion, which adds to the country appeal of this length.

The three patches which are applied to this length--two at bottom and one at the top, right hand corner--each add visual interest to the mesh cloth. As well, in the center, left hand side of the cloth there is a cluster of faint stains, illustrated on the accompanying detail photos shown here.

This is a lovely length of old worn and mended kaya that has a rich color and a wonderful texture.
