A Length of Nui Shibori: Stitched Cotton

$75.00 USD

ca. mid twentieth century
54" x 13 1/4", 137 cm x 33.5 cm

This is jewel-like length of shibori dyed cotton cloth, one that by its use of dark blue, light blue and white seems to create a surface that shimmers.

The length is hand dyed, of course, and the "woven" pattern of the shibori is done by hand stitching, also called nui shibori.

The design and its execution both are just beautiful.  As this piece was taken from a yukata, or a casual, unlined kimono, there are some ingrained creases to the material that may not iron out entirely.

An absolutely beautiful length of indigo dyed cotton shibori.
