A Length of Lightweight Plaid Cotton: Mid Twentieth Century
$45.00 USD
mid twentieth century
66" x 13 3/4", 168 cm x 35 cm
This is a lightweight and drapey length of old cotton, probably woven on an old fashioned power loom using commercially spun cotton.
It is of a type that was produced widely in the early Showa era, probably around the 1930s through the 1950s or so.
The design is light and the scale of the plaid is large. There are some very faint stains on the cloth of the type shown on the last detail photo, and as you can see, they are almost unable to be discerned when seen from afar.
