A Length of Kasuri Dyed Cotton: Sophisticated Pattern

What a wonderfully sophisticated design on this indigo dyed cotton kasuri length.

Inside the middle channel of a large scale plaid we see pairs of vertical dashes that are staggered as they travel up the length of the cloth. The manner in which each pair fades into an indigo space before they appear again is really fun to look at.

The cloth itself shows light fading overall and the surface shows some pitting or small holes. There is a mending patch, too, which is stitched to the reverse side of the length and evidence of this is shown on the detail photo here.

This is a very nice length of indigo dyed cotton kasuri for its intriguing and clever design.
