A Length of Kasuri Cotton: Beautifully Rendered Images

This length of indigo dyed cotton kasuri cloth is finely woven: the images depicted on the cloth are all delicately drawn and clearly rendered.

The pattern is a repeat of fishing nets let out to dry in the sun, a straw rain cape and hat, images of a water or wave design and some kanji or Chinese characters.

The length is composed of three separate pieces which are hand stitched together. It is faded to a nice, dull indigo blue which gives the piece and its images a kind of dreamy appearance. 

This is a wonderful length of intricately depicted images in a skillful repeat.
