A Length of Itajime Shibori: Variant Grid

This is a length of contemporary, indigo dyed cotton that was dyed in the itajime shibori method where the cloth is folded and clamped in order to produce designated patterns or effects.

This cloth shows a grid-based design with an interesting twist: the top half seems to be the "positive" form of the "negative" one on the bottom half: the light and dark areas have somehow been reversed and this is a fascinating detail.
