This is a length of indigo dyed cotton boro (or patched and mended) cloth that is hand stitched of two layers.
The top layer which is shown here is hand sewn from several pieces and shows about 9 patches that are clustered on the length, primarily near the bottom of it.
The cloth is subtle and the patches are in low contrast to the base cloth which is a medium blue tone.
The length of the cloth is generous and this piece has many potential applications both for home design and fashion design--or more notably to be displayed as art work to be admired.
