A Length of Indigo Dyed Kasuri Cotton: Abstracted Arrow Feathers

This is a length of indigo dyed cotton kasuri whose design is based on vertically-oriented stripes and staggered zigzags.

The zigzag motif is a traditional one, it is a play on the often-seen arrow feather design.

When placed as these are the motif is far removed from its inspiration and appears as completely abstracted geometry. This is a nicely balanced, well-executed pattern.

The cloth itself is in good, used condition with a slight hole giving a snag of yarn shown on the detail photos. There is faint surface wear and very slight light fading.

This is a good length of well-designed kasuri cotton.
