A Length of Green Toned Hand Woven Cotton: Kaya

$65.00 USD

early twentieth century
69" x 12", 175 cm x 30.5 cm

This is a length of softly woven, hand spun cotton. The length is composed of four separate pieces that have been hand stitched together from what appears to be three different types of cloth.

Because different cloth was culled to make one length the green tones are gradient, from the top being a yellowish-green to the bottom pieces being bluer in tone.

The cloth was taken from a kaya or a mosquito netting. The cotton yarns are softly woven and the cloth itself is drapey, clingy and gentle to the touch.

From the standpoint of color this is a beautiful length and in considering texture this is a winner.

Simply beautiful.
