A Length of Good Boro Cotton: Stripes
$80.00 USD
ca. early twentieth century
65" x 13", 165 cm x 33 cm
This is a very handsome length of boro cotton.
The length is composed of four separate pieces of cotton cloth that are hand stitched together; on top of this assemblage of cottons there are 8 hand applied patches, half of which fill the top half of this length of boro cotton.
Most likely this has been taken from a boro futon cover, and this piece of cloth is a beautiful tribute to Japanese ingenuity and resourcefulness.
Really lovely.
