A Length of Blue on White Kasuri Cotton: Stripes and Weft Design
$45.00 USD
mid twentieth century
120" x 12", 305 cm x 30.5 cm
This is a very long piece of cotton that is designed using indigo dyed warp yarns which create vertical stripes: against the warp-oriented stripes is a kasuri weft that is dyed black.
Please note these condition issues: the cloth seems to be missing one of its selvedges; there also is a section of this cloth that shows a bit of faint, yellowed mottling, seemingly due to age, but not terribly noticeable over all.
A very good length of hand woven cotton from old Japan.
