A Length of Artfully Patched Cotton Cloth: Stripes

This is a length of indigo dyed striped cotton that is hand woven from wonderfully textured, hand spun cotton yarns. The warp-based striping is bold and graphic and the length is hand stitched from two pieces.

The striped pattern is handsome on its own and it is a bit further enhanced by the two, bold mending patches that sit on the top quarter of the length.

The contrast between the solid toned cotton cloth of the patches and the background of the striped cloth is a nice to look at. It is made even better by the lovely, dark sashiko stitching on each of the patches which provides a nice surprise.
