zokin is a traditional Japanese dust rag which is hand stitched using re-purporsed cloth.  Zokin were often made in groups, so very often you will find batches of similar types coming from one home.

This rather large zokin is stitched from about two layers of woven plaid cotton.

The cloth used to make this zokin is of a plaid cotton that has been sashiko stitched in a wonderfully pattern in white thread.

It is a good looking old traditional dust rag which certainly can be used in the home as an accessory.
