A Large Crepe Silk Drawstring Bag: Recycled Kimono Sampler

This large, crepe silk drawstring bag is secured with a heavy, silk cord with a large tassel. 

The body of the cloth shows many patterns set into regular-sized squares. The reason for this is that the bag was made from recycled kimono sample roll, the kind of roll used by kimono merchants to show prospective buyers who would want to choose their own kimono pattern.

The bag is large in size and because it is old and made of silk, the silk has split in a few areas which is what old silk does. Please see attached detail photos that illustrate this.

The bag has attractive color and patterns which call to mind fabrics of the 1940s or so--and do note the bottom of the bag which is of one image, framed.
