A Kasuri Zokin: Repaired Dust Cloth

mid twentieth century

Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a handsome fairly thick zokin which is sewn from recycled kasuri cotton cloth which has been sashiko stitched in a loose manner.
The very subtle repairs shown on the detail photos here add visual appeal.
Just wonderful.
