Zabuton are traditional Japanese cushions used to sit on the floor.  This zabuton is hand stitched on three sides and is finished with wonderful hand applied details in the form of tassels on each of the four corners and a stitched detail in the center of the zabuton.

The covering is of a fairly coarse, undyed hemp or ramie cloth which shows exceedingly faint, almost undetectable variations in color from wear.  The zabuton is filled with cotton batting.

A charming and discreet traditional Japanese textile, this one is still very usable.
