A Hard-to-Find Ball or Shredded Cloth Yarn: Sakiori Weaving
$225.00 USD
early twentieth century
5", 13 cm in diameter
This ball of torn rag yarn was to be used in the service of sakiori weaving, and, it is important to note, this kind of raw material is exceedingly hard to find. It is a pleasure to present this here for you to see.
The shredded cloth used to make this ball seems to be randomly selected and comprised of both hand woven and machine woven cottons. The variety in color and pattern of cloth used to make this yarn is delightful to see.
This is of good size and has variety of cloth fragments, and all the pieces that make this ball are old. This is a real find.
Very recommended.
