A Handsome and Lightweight Boro Kimono: Patched Cotton

This is a very good looking, patched and repaired kimono which is made from nicely worn, hand woven cotton.  This kimono was so worn that the light weight cotton has softened to an almost gauzy texture, just lovely.

Have a look at the various images that accompany this posting for a better view onto the good patches and mending on this garment.  It seems likely that this was not a work garment per se, but more that it was someone's every day kimono which was warn hard and mended over time.
