A Hand Made Cotton Apron: Sashiko Stitched

$50.00 USD

mid twentieth century
21" x 19", 53 cm x 48.25 cm

This is an unused, sashiko stitched apron which is hand stitched from woven striped cotton cloth. The apron is stitched from two layers of his striped cotton.

The sashiko stitching which is done over the striped cotton is expertly done and is regular in its arrangement: the pattern is a grid that is intersected by evenly spaced diagonal lines. The cotton tie is made from undyed white cloth.

A wonderful accessory with a good deal of visual interest--a delightful garment that is beautifully sashiko stitched.
