A Group of Four Commercially Printed Cotton Fragments: 1920s
$25.00 USD
1920s or so
largest piece: 17" x 11 1/2", 43 cm x 29 cm
These four attractive cotton fabrics are commercially produced: three of the four are small-figure patterns in a kind of Indian mode while the largest piece is of a Japanese design showing a free-wheeling array of tsuba or elaborately decorated sword hilts.
Reminiscent of a fashion in the early part of the twentieth century in Japan these fragments are handsome and in good, used condition.
