A Group of Five Daifukucho: Connected by Twisted Paper Cording
$40.00 USD
early twentieth century
each book approximately: 6 1/2" x 5", 16.5 cm x 12.75 cm
This is a nice group of old daifukucho. A daifukucho is a hand bound, hand written book that was originally used for inventories, for accounting, for ledgers or as a record of loans.
This group is connected by a twisted paper cord; each of the books is about 1/2 filled with hand writing which wasdone in sumi or charcoal-based ink. Its covers show hand written kanji or Chinese characters
A good example of a traditional daifukucho, and unusual for it being an intact group.
