A Boro Zokin: Pieced Cottons
$21.00 USD
mid twentieth century
11" x 12 1/2", 28 cm x 32 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dust rags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a very handsome zokin whose one side is sewn from pieced-together recycled cotton cloth which has been beautifully sashiko stitched; the other side is a plain piece of black, commercially loomed cloth.
A very good looking zokin with a lovely composition and good color.
