This good-sized book is comprised of 19 pages, each of which is hand printed from wood blocks and shows over 60 designs overall.

The book is said to have been made as a sort of school text book, one that would be used to teach or illustrate some of Japan's traditional design motifs. Included within are stylized nature--birds, flowers, etc.--to hard geometries.

Each of the illustrations is beautifully colored and is in good condition. Each is clear and bright.

This is a beautiful treasury giving a glimpse into Japan's design history and one that aims to introduce viewers to this spectacular legacy.

The book seems to have been folded in half and the binding appears to have been redone in recent years.

In good, used condition.
