A Bolt of Unused Striped Cotton: Indigo
$245.00 USD
early to mid twentieth century
18 yards x 13 1/4", 16.5 m x 33.5 cm
This is an unused bolt of very handsome yet simply designed indigo dyed cotton. The cloth is of a good weight and is tightly woven, the color is deep and clear.
The bolt is longer than most which were woven for making kimono--it is possible that this length was intended to be used for bedding of some sort, but we will never know.
What is clear about this is that there is a very good amount of usable, hand woven indigo dyed cotton cloth whose stripe effect is very Japanese in taste and execution.
Lovely and very usable for any type of creative project.
