A Bolt of Mosquito Netting: Cotton Warp, Hemp Weft

$195.00 USD

early twentieth century
12 yards x 13 1/4", 10.9 m x 33.5 cm

This is a full bolt of unused, green dyed mosquito netting or kaya whose warp is of cotton yarns and whose weft is of hemp or ramie yarns.

The bolt is fairly heavily starched and the green tone appears to be dyed in synthetic dye.

The weave is loose as is characteristic of mosquito netting.

There are almost 10 yards/9 meters of good quality kaya however at the 10 yard/9 meter mark large holes appear in the cloth, so effectively the bolt contains10 yards of usable kaya.

Still, even so, this is a good amount of old, unused cloth and the bolt itself is a handsome object to own--and there is a good amount of cloth to be used in whatever project you have in mind.
