A Boldly Designed Kasuri Cotton Boro Cloth: Many Pieces Combined

$95.00 USD

early twentieth century
45 1/2" x 29", 115.5 cm x 73.5 cm

This pieced and patched cotton cloth is made of a base of fairly lightweight striped and kasuri dyed cotton in a handsome palette of browns, blues and white.

As can be seen the base cloth is set in two directions and is made of several pieces hand stitched together. The application of the patches which are fully functional is beautifully done, especially the relationship of the pair in the center with those who cluster along the edges.

The base cloth does show groups of small holes here and there which is not surprising for a boro cloth or one of this age--it is to be expected.

But what a good looking boro textile, one with fine color, great patching and good size.
