This length of hand spun, hand woven, indigo dyed cotton is simply beautiful.
This checked length of old cotton, with its ito aji or "thread flavor" embodies the essential elements of what makes Japanese folk textiles so appealing: the rich indigo color, the home spun cotton and the sophisticated simplicity of design all come together to create something unassuming but just wonderful to look at and touch.
The cotton yarns are tightly woven and the color is dark but clear. The length is in very good, used condition.
